Web Criminals Head to Twitter

Via SecurityProPortals.com

Well, with any service that gets popular around the internet, there’s bound to be some hackers included in that population. The same stands for Twitter. Kaspersky Labs discovered a fake profile of the Brazilian Celebrity, Kelly Kelly, that promises to link you to hot Brazilian girls, but instead sends you to a malicious application. It’s disguised as Adobe Flash player, however it’s a fake version of it and you have to install it to “see” the “videos.” Additionally, instead of just getting one Trojan out of this, the victim’s machine gets slammed with ten, that are all desguised as MP3 files.

So basically, we can only expect more of these profiles to pop up unless Twitter can possibly do something against this.. which does not seem much likely, sadly.

Facebook has released a message to all of those who have subscribed to the Facebook Profiles Preview page announcing that the new long-awaited profile designs are now available to those who want to try it out. Pretty much like a Public-Beta. After the next few weeks, they’ll be switching the entire site over to the new design, regardless of whether you want it or not. If you’d like to switch over now (you’ll still have the option to switch back to the old version for the time being if you wish) you can visit: http://www.new.facebook.com.

Viacom has backed off on an order made to YouTube to hand over all the viewing histories for their users; Twelve Terabytes of data. The information would include what users, their IP addresses, what videos they watched and all that type of stuff. Blogs around the net predicted this would be to only hunt down and sue individual users for watching copyrighted videos online.

Now Canadians have the right to know where the closest Pizza Parlour is and order for delivery as well, because Goog-411 is now available in Canada! For those of you who’ve never heard of Goog-411 (1-800-GOOG-411) it’s a Google service for your telephone, where-as you dial the number, say your location and what you’re looking for. Then it’ll return a list of businesses that matched your criteria and they’ll forward you via phone to the business you want.

So now you’ll never go hungry, even if you’re in Canada!
