Do NOT “Activate” Your Facebook Account

Some guy with too much spare time, yet a genius when it comes to evil plots, has recently developed a new app on Facebook called “Activate Account.” When a user adds this app, it spams out the user’s friends with messages saying that their Facebook account will be closed if they do not add this application within one week.

Now first off, we should ALL not be stupid enough to realize Facebook sends out global messages using a little section at the top of the main page, not notifications. Next off… I can’t believe I even have to point this out but:

 

We all do stupid things in our life-time, but this is just flat-out retarded.

To anyone who’s added this, you might wanna remove the application, block it, and reset your password.

    how do we block/remove that application once it has been added?

    I just saw this app post something in my notifications. To be fair it’s quite a funny prank from the writer’s point of view. On the bright side, FB has now removed the app :-)

    Actually… Facebook hasn’t removed it. I just got those messages for the first time today. Which is when I IMMEDIATELY googled it because I wanted to know what was up before I clicked on it.

    “Best of the Best” is another app that is doing the same thing. Do not add this app.
