Why are people whining about the new Facebook?
September 6th, 2008 | by Andrew |They have nothing better to do with their lives. Done.
But really, ever since the “new” Facebook has been getting some major hatings from users and I personally don’t really get why. Lots of people are jumping out of windows killing themselves (okay maybe not that far) and bitching like there’s no tomorrow.
If I get one more “Petition Group” invite, I’m going to punch that person in the face =]
The new facebook design will seem a little awkward AT FIRST but shut up and use it for a day, you’ll learn to love it and adapt a new sense of hate for the OLD one.
In the old facebook, you had everything thrown in random places all over a user’s profile page. You had to dig through ten pounds of pointless apps and boxes just to reach someone’s wall to either stalk them or say something to them. Today with the new facebook, if you want to write on someone’s wall it’s simple, and what other things on a person’s profile is there that you really want to look at other than their wall?
On the old Facebook, you had to wait forever, for some profiles to load because they were bogged down with so many apps. I remember once downloading over 3MB of data off of a single page, and there was no getting away from it. NOW, if you don’t want to see someone’s apps (which you probably don’t, other than bumper sticker) you just move your mouse half an inch and click the “Boxes” button. Ta-Da!
Everything’s still there.
It’s less cluttered, more organized and faster.
Not liking the new facebook is like this:
Now shut up =]

Yeah, I actually like this layout better. Just takes some getting used to…

I find the new layout much faster to load, much more intuitive and much more aesthetically appealing. The only problem is that it breaks at 800×600, although the old one did that too.
