A Microsoft blogger, Mary Jo Foley has “spilt-the-beans” as hip kids say, about the deadline for the finished product that is Eye-EEEEE-Eight. It’s kinda funny actually… Internet Explorer Eight… Two-Thousand-and-Eight… okay no, I just suck.
Quick update from Microsoft’s Financial Analyst Meeting (FAM): Microsoft Senior Vice President of Online Services and Windows, Bill Veghte, just told attendees that Microsoft will release the final version of Internet Explorer (IE) 8 to the Web “later this year.”
The first beta of IE8 was released in March which Microsoft said to be primarily focused on web developers and designers. They say that the next beta (beta 2 for those who couldn’t tell that “first” means “1″) will be aimed towards the end-user. End-User? Are our computers going to come alive and stab claws through our livers? What are you planning, Microsoft?

Oh shit man I don’t wanna be stabbed D:
In all seriousness, I hope they start improving on rendering CSS, because it’ll be about damn time.

Downloaded IE8 Beta2 on my laptop with XP operating system. It took several attempts but the instructions were concise. Also downloaded on my desktop which has Vista and I’d just installed the service pack 1. IE8 installed first try no problems. Seems to work just fine, faster for sure, and I like the multiple tabbing. Still exploring it tho. Also put Firefox 3.01 on both machines, too.
