Myspace attempts a decent update…

myspace-attempts-a-decent-update

Social-Networking site Myspace has finally made some long-overdue layout updates. First thing you’ll notice is the new home-page design. They finally parted from their old look of a million misplaced square boxes, to a new look of a million misplaced rounded-rectangular boxes with shiny gradients.

I disabled Adblock Plus so I could get that screenshot and “Holy Black Jesus” is all I had to say. The site is one gigantic advertisement! They probably make like ten freaking dollars everytime someone views the homepage alone, and another thirty when someone proceeds to their personal “home” section, which by-the-way has a shiny new navigation bar too! I wasn’t manly enough to view the ads on that page though. It was bad enough once. So pretty much, after nobody has seen any decent progress on the site other than copying from Facebook (and doing a horrible job at… their status, friend updates and photo tagging systems are horrible) they finally get the idea that something’s wrong with their service.

OH.

THE HEADER! OF COURSE, THE HEADER IS THE SOURCE OF FAILURE.

The thousand error messages you recieve daily are no problem, in fact, they’re part of the service. “MySpace Has Everything.” I mean, Facebook doesn’t have error pages. What’s marketing and keeping in touch with friends without the error pages?! They’re more like hints; you go to post on someone’s “comments” section and you get an error. Hmm, maybe that person just doesn’t like you? There can be all sorts of speculation about this but we’ll just say it’s their little way of saying, “Okay buddy, it’s time to get your ass up and off the damn computer.”

So that pretty much sums up what is perhaps the latest upset in Myspace’s history.

Of course! Errors are what makes Myspace so wonderful! And suddenly I’m reminded of that Youtube video you made ages ago where you went to myspace.

    “Error? ERROR?! ERROR?! LSDSAASFLSDBGLDNASGIDFNHBIKDNIGON
    DFOIGBNDFIONDGIHF–Oh okay, there we go.”
