It’s quite amusing browsing through comments made on torrents at at BTJunkie by non-atheists. This one, being found on an MS-Office torrent, was the lettering on the icing on the cake.

“Please stop stealing programs stealing is bad for you. [sic] You will get caught and you will think the judgment is unfair, but you will have to account for what you have done. Turn to following God. Change your life and be a better person, that you may turn away Gods [sic] wrath. Think more than about the law,Be [sic] better than the law. The law (under gods [sic] permission and allowance) only encourages you to do good. Do MORE than the law, and safeguard yourself. For when you die, or when the time of judgment of the earth comes (whichever comes first) You [sic] will be held in judgment in front of the Christ who sits at the right hand of God. What will you say to him. [sic] How will you account for being a crumby [sic] program thief. I hope the best for you, and hope you can find it in your heart to turn away from doing what is bad and what is detestable in gods [sic] sight. Please stop. Please repent.” -Terminator0032

Well Satan’s going to be busy.

Wow. I mean, I’m not a religious expert, but don’t you think God is probably against computers as a whole?

Since intellectual-property law came about in the 1600s-1700s, and the Bible was all written by the 300s, God has no word on it. Thus breaking IP law isn’t a sin in itself. Somebody evidently needs to learn their history and their religion.

Didn’t you guys hear? Repent, repent now! For if you die, Christ (who sits at the right hand of God) will pass divine judgment on you!

    What’s a good phrase?

Get this motherfucking Zealots of my motherfucking internet.

I think God doesn’t care about government prosecution of sharing media. If anything he’d screw the guys who sued people for DL’in music and ruining they’re lives.

I do believe in a God, but I think he’s got bigger things than “sharing” music on teh internets. It’s not like “well you opened a chil care hospital, saved a person from death, and was a loving father… but you DL’ed illigal music on teh internets..so later dood! *bans to hell”.

    So yeah. loljesuscamp.

That begs the interesting question. If you were to tell a deeply religious person that it was illegal for them ‘not’ to jump off a cliff, do you think they’d do it?

I mean, you could always argue to them that it is a law and that if they don’t that they’ll go straight to hell.

It makes no sense for these people to equate the law of the State with the law of God, especially considering that the direct reasons for Christ’s crucifixion and the martyrdom of Paul of Tarsus were disobedience of Roman law. They’re both going to hell in that case, according to the reasoning of these people…but one of them is the son of God, and the other is a highly revered saint.

“The law (under gods [sic] permission and allowance) only encourages you to do good.” Someone needs to learn their history.
