Roger Waters, the great musician and composer of Pink Floyd fame, recently played a concert in which he unleashed a giant pig into the sky, while playing “Pigs” from Animals (1977).
The Associated Press writes:
The pig, which was led above the crowd from lines held on the ground, displayed the words “Don’t be led to the slaughter” and a cartoon of Uncle Sam wielding two bloody cleavers. The other side read “Fear builds walls.”
The underside of the pig simply read “Obama” with a checked ballot box alongside.
Democracy in America wryly remarks:
Perhaps that’ll at least allay fears that he’s a Muslim, not to mention providing a crucial boost among aging British rockers and disaffected teenagers.
Sarcasm aside, it’s definitely possible that the endorsements heaped upon Obama may affect opinion in the idiotic celebrity-obsessed culture the modern American now finds himself in.
