Game Maker 7, a very popular game development system by YoYoGames, is released with an additional file known as “Softwrap.” This Softwrap file has been enraging many users of the Game Maker software because it saves the date you last ran Game Maker and checks it with the current system time.
So what’s that mean? If you say… had your system clock ahead by a few days or even a year let’s say, and then set the clock back to the normal time, you won’t be able to run the program anymore until the system clock is ahead of that date Softwrap has logged.
How can you fix this?
First: Uninstall Game Maker 7 from your hard drive
Then: Go to the following directory:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Softwrap\YOYOGAMESGM70FINAL
You will see a file in there. Delete it.
Lastly: Re-install Game Maker 7 and Enjoy!
Hope this has helped some of you out there, feel free to leave a comment!
