Jeremiah Wright, Barack Obama’s pastor, has been quoted–in some cases, extremely out of context–saying some things that are racist and nasty (and others that are merely politically incorrect); the media has been using this to attempt to discredit Obama.
Roland Martin at CNN (via LewRockwell.com) has actually listened to entire Wright sermons (9/11 and “God damn America”), unlike the cherry-picking folks in the rest of the media who’d rather listen to controversial 3-second snippets.
As this whole sordid episode regarding the sermons of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright has played out over the last week, I wanted to understand what he ACTUALLY said in this speech. I’ve been saying all week on CNN that context is important, and I just wanted to know what the heck is going on.
