[TRPG] New Quest & Server Changes…

Well guys, it’s been a rough trip the past few months. Right when we thought we had US East back up, we had a new sort of malfunction. The server software was fine, but it turned out the hardware it was running off of was malfunctioning. So we’ve changed our US East server from a system in Ohio to a system in Florida. Give your thanks, Spitfire for offering to run the server on his computer.Anyway, I did something very experimental today with the updater, and quite honestly I’m not expecting it to work too well… hahah. You see, I’ve made a few changes to the updater and then needed a way to get the new version to all the users without having them need to visit the site. So the updater will download a new client which is actually another updater, which will update the existing updater with the new updater. That may sound crazy, so don’t mind it much. Let me just say it was hard to get it working like that.

When all the updates are done, you may get a “file not found” error. I really don’t know why this is happening because it doesn’t call any files after it updates Z-Updater… ignore it I guess. When that happens, restart Touched RPG for a nice little patch which will download all the map files and sound files over, as well as update your server IP database.

You may have more problems from these updates… try restarting the game to see if they go away, if not post them here.

Also, I’m really sorry for the lack of quests, but I’m working on it! There will come a day you won’t have to wait a month for a new quest! (unless you do them all right when I finish making them)

This quest is found in the north Exiorian city of “Emerolus.” Walk in to Farmer Brown’s shop and talk to Elmerobin. He’ll tell you about these bandits and to go kill them. So kill them, bring Elmerobin back the autobiography, and he’ll give you all sorts of neat things!

Also, I’d like to point out if you open the “Touched Web Browser” now, you’ll be able to see a list of the top 20 players on the US East server! Isn’t that just awesome now?
